Dec. 1, 2007 - Championship game of the Bradford To.

BRADFORD – The highly touted Highlands Golden Rams showed just why they are so talked about routing the Bradford Owls 99-58 to win their second consecutive Bradford Tip-off Tournament Championship Saturday night.

“They had a 29-point first quarter and a 33-point third quarter,” Bradford head coach Dave Fuhrman said. “I don’t know if a team has ever made us look as bad defensively.

“Defense has been a staple of our program, but we had absolutely no answer for their team speed, hot shooting and aggressiveness.”

Highlands shot 60 percent from the floor including 14 of 27 from 3-point land.

Highlands also forced 27 Bradford turnovers.

All-tournament selections Reece Mabery and Larry Alexander led the Rams with 21 points each, and tournament MVP Damon Porter had 20 points.

Ben Lanich led Bradford with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Ryan LaBrozzi added 10 points and was named to the All-tournament team.

Bradford (1-1) returns to action at Warren Tuesday.
