EMPORIUM – Behind hot shooting, strong rebounding and good defense, Cameron County knocked off Brockway 73-32 Thursday night at Cameron County.

The Red Raiders shot 69 percent (29 of 42) from the floor, outrebounded the shorthanded Rovers, who were without Mark Shannon, 31 to 12 and forced 29 Brockway turnovers including 24 steals.

Cameron County, which led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, pulled away in the second quarter outscoring Brockway 21-9 to take a 35-18 halftime lead.

“The game got off to a slow start in the first quarter,” Cameron County head coach John Barnhart said. “But after that, the boys got it going. I was proud of the way everyone had a part in this game. This is what you can see out of our kids all year.”

Jordan Crane led Cameron County with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Charlie Holjencin added 14 points and 11 assists. Dan Sullivan chipped in12 points and 10 steals.

Nick Anderson paced Brockway with seven tallies.
