East Forest's Ponegalek reaches 1,000 career points

FARMINGTON TWP. – East Forest’s Alicia Ponegalek became the sixth girls’ player in school history to reach 1,000 career points Friday night when she scored 15 tallies in a 55-42 Lady Bears loss at North Clarion.

With the 15 points, Ponegalek has 1,001 career points.

But Ponegalek’s efforts weren’t enough to overcome the North Clarion duo of Emily Gatesman and Jamie Zacherl. The two combined for 34 points with Gatesman scoring 18 and Zacherl 16 with a team-high nine rebounds. Jess Tarr added 10 points for North Clarion.

Ashley Oliver chipped in with 14 points for East Forest, while Nicole Geyer had 14 rebounds.
