Shiner, who became the first player at Clearfield in the D9Sports.com-era (2000-01-present) to score 30 or more points in a game hit 12 baskets including a pair of 3-pointers and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

CLEARFIELD – Matt Shiner scored a career-high 32 points to lead Clearfield to a 69-55 win over visiting Brookville in D9 League boys’ basketball action Friday night.

The Bisons (5-2 overall, 3-0 D9 League), winners of four straight, started fast building an 18-5 lead at the end of the first quarter on their way to a 35-21 halftime lead.

Brookville (3-3, 0-1), though, came roaring back going on a 26-13 run to cut the lead to 48-47 with five minutes to play. The Raiders, however, never did take the lead in the game.

Shiner, who became the first player at Clearfield in the D9Sports.com-era (2001-present) to score 30 or more points in a game, was a big reason for that. The 6-foot-1 junior guard hit 12 baskets including a pair of 3-pointers and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Jarrin Campman (13 points) and Todd Hryn (10 points) gave Clearfield three players in double digits.

Joe Galbraith led Brookville with 15 points, while Chad Brocious added 11.
