OLEAN, NY – Despite a grueling schedule that saw it play six games in three states in 11 days, Bradford had something left in its tank pulling away late to get a 67-54 win over Jamestown (NY) in the consolation game of the IAABO Tournament Saturday afternoon at St. Bonaventure.

The Owls (7-4) led 44-43 going to the fourth quarter but outscored Jamestown 23-11 in the fourth quarter,

“We really executed on both ends of the floor in the fourth quarter when the game was on the line,” Bradford head coach Dave Fuhrman said. “A lot of our games have been like this, and we’ve lost a few of them. Today we won a big game. I thought this game was very important for our mental psyche considering we had lost three of our last four games including a heartbreaking one in the first round of this tournament.”

Bradford’s bench came in big Saturday with sophomore Michael White (7) and Pug Fuhrman (6) contributing 13 points and senior Matt Teribery playing solid defense according to Dave Fuhrman.

“(Ben) Lanich and (Drew) Kelly started the fourth quarter with four fouls each,” Dave Fuhrman said. “We were able to make some offensive/defensive substitutions and save them from fouling out. We were also able to give some breathers to some of our starters throughout the game, and we looked much fresher in the fourth quarter.”

Ryan LaBrozzi once again had a stellar game for Bradford with 20 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

“I can’t say enough about the kind of season Ryan is having,” Dave Fuhrman said. “HE does a little of everything for us. He’s the kind of player capable of carrying the team on his back, which he has done in many of our games.”

Ben Lanich also scored 13 points and snared eight rebounds despite being saddled with foul trouble.

Bradford returns to action Wednesday when it hosts St. Marys in D9 League play.
