Kamper becomes fifth player in Coudersport girls' basketball history to score 1,000 career points

COUDERSPORT – Kristy Kamper became just the fifth player in Coudersport girls’ basketball history to score 1,000 career points when she went over the mark in the Lady Falcons 61-30 win over visiting Oswayo Valley Wednesday night.
Kamper, who entered the game needing eight points to reach 1,000, took care of business early recording her 1,000th point on a layup off a pass from Kayla Bohn with 2:09 left in the first quarter. Kamper’s efforts helped Coudersport (11-2 overall, 4-0 NTL) outscore Oswayo Valley 25-8 in the first quarter.
Kamper, who finished the night with a game-high 20 points, now has 1,012 career tallies.
Jessica Wilson, who is closing in on 1,000 career tallies herself, added 10 points for the Lady Falcons. Wilson now has 955 career points.
Kandace Drake and Lauren Donovan paced Oswayo Valley (9-5, 1-3) with eight points each.
NOTES – Coudersport is ranked third in District 9 by the RRR Roadhouse D9Sports.com District 9 Rankings and first in Class A … Wilson and Kamper each had seven rebounds to lead Coudersport, while Kelly McVay had six assists and Bohn five … Kim Tingley is the all-time leading scorer at Coudersport and the second-leading scorer in District 9 girls’ basketball history with 2,905 points in a career than ended in 1997 … Becky Tingley is second at Coudy in scoring with 1,264 points followed by Danielle Fuhrman (1,164), Kristin Zimmerman (1,164) and Kamper.
