STRATTANVILLE – The Clarion-Limestone boys’ basketball team probably wishes Ethan Gravatt had stayed at Franklin instead of joining Dylan at Rocky Grove this season.

That's because senior Ethan scored four of the Orioles eight points in overtime helping Rocky Grove outscore C-L 8-0 in the extra frame to get a 62-54 win in KSAC boys’ basketball action Monday night at C-L.

The Lions (7-7 overall, 6-5) KSAC had already seen enough of freshman Dylan in regulation. As the 6-2, first-year varsity player, hit a 3-pointer late in regulation to tie the game at 54 for Rocky Grove (13-1, 10-1), which responded to its first loss of the year Friday with a gutsy performance Monday.

Then enter Ethan, who had a monster game for the Orioles. The senior, who played at Franklin his freshman through junior years before being made to go back to Rocky Grove his senior season (he had gone to the Valley Grove schools, which Rocky Grove is the high school for, from kindergarten to eighth grade, finished with a triple-double (14 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) including the four clutch-points in the extra session.

Dylan Gravatt also scored 14 points giving the Gravatt boys 45.2 percent of Rocky Grove’s points on the night.

Travis Melhuish added 12 points and 13 rebounds for Rocky Grove, while Cruz Mietus had 13 points.

C-L put four players in double digits as well led by C.J. Hesdon’s game-high 17 points. Ryan Raybuck added 15, Adam Plucinski 12 and Jaye Dulavitch 10.

NOTES – Three of C-L’s last four games have gone to overtime with the Lions losing the last two overtime contests.

Editor's note - The originally posted story had both Gravatt boys in the Franklin school district last season. D9Sports.com was informed Tuesday that Dylan Gravatt had always been in the Valley Grove School district and only Ethan was at Franklin. D9Sports.com apologizes for the error.
