SMETHPORT – Tim Cheplic bucketed a career-high 31 points to lead
Cheplic hit just six shots from the field including a 3-pointer but was nearly perfect from the free-throw line going 18 of 31.
Austin (1-15 overall, 1-5 NTL) trailed 28-26 at halftime but outscored Smethport 12-3 in the third quarter to take a 38-31 lead. The Hubbers (4-12, 0-6) tried to rally in the fourth but couldn’t.
Bryan Parsons added nine points for Austin, which broke an 18-game losing streak with the win, while Michael Diffenderfer chipped in with seven points.
Zach Myers led Smethport with 31 points, while Randy Scott had 10.
