BRADFORD – Led by the senior trio of Ben Lanich, Ryan LaBrozzi and Randy Confer, the Bradford Owls thumped the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers 68-42 in a Saturday afternoon matinee at the Owls Nest.

“We played our best all-around game of the season,” Bradford head coach Dave Fuhrman said. “We played tenacious defense, and we were very aggressive and efficient offensively. This is the first time we’ve beaten Hollidaysburg in the five or six seasons we’ve been playing them.”

Ben Lanich dominated the paint for Bradford (12-5) scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

“He really wanted the ball,” Fuhrman said. “When he got it, there was no stopping him from scoring.”

Ryan LaBrozzi had another all-around game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals, while Confer added 12 points and eight rebounds.

“Confer’s play is very big for us,” Fuhrman said. “It gives us another inside presence for teams to worry about other than Lanich.”

On defense, the Owls mixed their defenses and had the Golden Tigers out-of-sync all day offensively.  

Bradford returns to action Tuesday at Olean (NY)
