EMPORIUM – Kaitlyn Antonioli, Erin Taylor and Lauren Donovan combined to score 35 of Oswayo Valley’s 42 points in a 42-37 Green Wave victory at Cameron County in NTL girls’ basketball action Monday night. Antonioli led the way for Oswayo valley (10-6 overall, 2-4 NTL), which broke a 4-game losing streak, with 14 points, while Taylor added 12 and Donovan nine. Their efforts helped offset a monster night by Cameron County’s Kristin Sestina. The 6-foot senior had a triple-double for the Red Raiders (6-10, 2-4), who have lost four straight after a 3-game winning streak, with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 11 blocked shots. Unfortunately for Cameron County, no one else had more than Bre Dunsmore’s seven points. Cameron County led 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, but a 15-9 second-quarter edge allowed Oswayo Valley to take a 21-17 halftime lead. The Green Wave then extended that advantage to 28-21 at the end of three quarters. Both teams return to action Thursday with Cameron County traveling to Smethport and Oswayo Valley hosting Austin. NOTES – Cameron County actually made five more baskets than Oswayo Valley (17 to 12), but the Green Wave had an enormous advantage at the free-throw line hitting 16 of 20 charity shots to 2 of 6 from Cameron County.
