Derrick FOXBURG – Sophomore Erika Rothen scored a game-high 17 points while adding eight steals and seven assists as A-C Valley snapped a 62-game losing streak with a 47-29 win over visiting Elderton Friday night. “It was a good win for the girls,” A-C Valley’s first-year head coach Lane Larimore told the Oil City Derrick. “They needed it, and it will make the rest of their games easier.” A-C Valley’s last win came Feb. 11, 2005, when it beat North Clarion 57-23. Maryellen Busch added six points, six rebounds and three blocked shots for A-C Valley, while Katrina Johnson had seven points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Markeea Hart chipped in with six points and six rebounds. Sammy Griffith has 14 points to lead Elderton. |
