Information for this story is courtesy of the Punxsutawney Spirit DUBOIS – Corey Neal’s two free throws with eight seconds left lifted Punxsutawney to a 63-62 road win at DuBois Monday night in D9 League boys’ basketball action. The Chucks (6-11 overall, 1-5 D9 League) led 51-45 going to the fourth quarter but saw DuBois (1-16, 1-6) rally to take a 61-59 lead on two free throws by Jon Wayland with 14 seconds left. But Wayland fouled Neal with eight seconds left, and the Chucks junior guard nailed both of them for the victory. Punxsutawney, which led 34-31 at halftime, had three players in double figures led by 19 points from Christian Muth, who was a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. Mike Cook added 13 points and Dane Kopas 11, while Neal chipped in with eight. Nine of Cook’s 13 came on three 3-pointers. Ed Sines led DuBois with 15 points, while John Hartzfeld had 12, Jordan LaBue 11 and Wayland 10. Free-throw shooting was the difference in the game. Punxsutawney connected on 20 of 23 charity shots, while DuBois was just 13 of 21 from the line.
