BRADFORD The Bradford Owls overcame a sluggish start to defeat the Punxsutawney Chuck 74-47 Friday night in a
D9 League game at Bradford. We looked a little lethargic in the first quarter but perked up a little in the second quarter and built a
12-point halftime advantage, Bradford head coach Dave Fuhrman said. The Owls (13-6 overall, 8-1 D9 League), the top ranked team in Class AAAA/AAA and the No. 3 overall team in the RRR
Roadhouse D9Sports.com District 9 rankings, led by just two, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter but outscored
Punxsutawney 24-14 in the second quarter to take a 39-27 halftime lead. Bradford then blew the game open with a
21-9 third-quarter advantage. We played with more energy in the third quarter, Fuhrman said. Ben Lanich continued his strong of double-doubles for Bradford with 19 points and 12 rebounds while shooting a
perfect 9 of 9 from the field. Junior guard Drew Kelley shook off a recent shooting slump to tally 18 points for the Owls. It was good to see Drew scoring tonight, Fuhrman said. He is a big key for us offensively. We look so much
better offensively as a team when he is shooting well for us. Swingman Ryan LaBrozzi, saddled with early foul trouble, still managed 11 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and five
steals for Bradford. Mike Cook led Punxsutawney (6-13, 1-7) with 17 points including three 3-pointers. BRADFORD 74, PUNXSUTAWNEY 47 Score by Quarters Punxsy 13
