STRATTANVILLE Jaye Dulavitch and C.J. Hesdon both recorded double-doubles, and Clarion-Limestone outscored Union 11-6 in overtime to keep its playoff hopes alive with a 62-57 win Wednesday night at C-L. The Lions (10-10 overall, 9-7 KSAC-East), who must be at or very near .500 by school rule to go to the postseason, led 39-34 going to the fourth quarter but Union (14-6, 13-3), the No. 9 overall and No. 7 Class A team in the RRR Roadhouse/D9Sports.com rankings, rallied to tie the game at 51 at the end of regulation. C-L, however, the No. 10 Class A team, was able to pull out its second overtime victory in four tries with the 11-point effort in the extra session. Dulavitch led the way for the Lions with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Hesdon chipped in with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Raybuck chipped in with nine points and 10 rebounds. C-Ls defense also was able to slow down Unions Scott Booth, one of the top scorers in District 9, holding the sophomore to 15 points. A.J. Ethriedge led Union, which has dropped two straight, with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The loss tightens things up considerably in the KSAC-East race with Union now holding a one-game lead over Karns City with three to play. The Knights finish conference play by hosting North Clarion Friday, traveling to Rocky Grove, the first-place team in the KSAC-West Tuesday, and hosting East Forest, who is winless in conference play, Thursday. They also have a non-conference game with Moniteau Saturday. Karns City, meanwhile, is at C-L Friday, hosts Redbank Valley Tuesday and is at Clarion Thursday. Union does hold the tiebreaker over Karns City having swept the season series. NOTES Free-throw shooting was not a strong point for either team. C-L was 14 of 24 from the line with Union going 7 of 19, the second straight game the Knights have missed at least 12 charity shots ... Union falls to 1-1 in overtimes this season Union was just 2 of 15 from 3-point range in the game, while C-L hit 4 of 14 triples.
