Coudy's Hau reaches 1,000 career points

COUDERSPORT – John Hau became the eighth member of the Coudersport’s boys’ basketball 1,000 point club when he scored 18 points in a 79-48 Falcon win over Oswayo Valley Wednesday night.

Needing 14 points to reach 1,000, Hau scored18 in helping Coudersport, the RRR Roadhouse/D9Sports.com top ranked District 9 team, remain unbeaten at 21-0 overall and 11-0 in the North Tier League.

Blair Heimel also had a big night for Coudersport scoring 19 points and hauling down 12 rebounds, while Justin Kinder had 10 points for the Falcons, who led 44-26 at halftime.

Coby Sebastian led Oswayo Valley (7-14 overall, 3-8 NTL) with 18 points, and Joe Carson added 12 tallies.

Coudersport can clinch its fifth straight NTL title with a win at Port Allegany Friday night, while Oswayo Valley is at Smethport Friday night.

NOTES – Hau is the first Falcon to reach 1,000 points since Ryan Jones, who is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,907 in a career that ended in 2006. Jones and Hau were teammates for two seasons … Hau is the third member of Coudersport’s Class of 2008 to reach 1,000 career tallies joining Kristy Kamper and Jessica Wilson from the Coudersport girls’ squad.
