COUDERSPORT & WEST SUNBURY – The Coudersport and Keystone girls’ basketball teams both clinched conference/division crowns with wins Thursday night on nearly opposite ends of District 9.

Coudersport claimed its third North Tier League crown in a row and its seventh in eight years with a 75-24 win over visiting Port Allegany, while Keystone clinched its second straight KSAC-West title with a 76-52 win at Moniteau.

Kristy Kamper led the way in Coudersport’s win with 22 points, nine steals and seven assists, while Karli Duffee added 14 points and five steals and Jessica Wilson 13 points and five rebounds. Kelly McVay chipped in with 10 points.

The Lady Falcons (20-2 overall, 12-0 NTL), who have won 41 straight NTL games, used a 27-6 second-quarter advantage to break open a seven-point game, 15-8, going to the quarter then put the game away by outscoring the Lady Gators (11-11, 5-7) 22-2 in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, at the southern most point in D9, Keystone (20-2, 16-1 KSAC-West) got rolling after a slow start to get the 24-point win over Moniteau (6-15 overall, 5-11.

The game was tied at 13 at the end of the first quarter, and the Lady Panthers led by six, 25-19, at the half before outscoring Moniteau 51-33 in the second half.

Cassy Hinderliter had 18 points and six steals for Keystone, Caitlin Turk added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Sam Schwabenbauer chipped in with nine points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Britt Mohney also had 10 points, five assists and five steals with Amanda Rodgers collecting nine rebounds to go with eight points.

Kathleen Harding led Moniteau with 14 points, while Jenna McCorry added 13. (See Box Score) (Top of Page)

Keystone will now get a chance to win the KSAC crown outright Feb. 9 when it meets Union, Clarion or Karns City in the KSAC Title Game. The Lady Panthers lost the KSAC Championship Game to Union last season.
