By Chris Rossetti CLARION – Clarion slowly pulled away from East Forest to get a 61-40 win over the visiting Bears in Monday night in a game rescheduled from Friday. The game got off to a slow start with Clarion holding a 4-2 lead midway through the first quarter before grabbing an 11-6 advantage at the end of the quarter. The Bobcats (10-12 overall, 8-9 KSAC-East) then extended the lead to 26-18 at halftime before pulling away in the second half outscoring East Forest (2-20, 0-17) 35-24. Scott Larson had a monster night for Clarion with 18 points, 19 rebounds and seven steals, while Drew Vandermeer added 17 points, six rebounds, four blocks and six steals. Ben Brady chipped in with 12 points and Cody Zacherl had 10. District 9’s leading scorer Corey Snyder had a game-high 22 points for East Forest but struggled shooting most of the night. He added five rebounds, four steals and an assist. Tyler Andring added seven points and four rebounds for East Forest. Both teams are back in action Tuesday with Clarion traveling to North Clarion and East Forest hosting Clarion-Limestone.
