DUBOIS – The Bradford Owls sprinted to a 17 point first quarter lead
and never looked back in dumping the DuBois Beavers Friday night 90-58 to clinch the No. 1 seed in the upcoming
District 9 AAA playoffs. “Obviously, with us scoring 90 points, we played very well
offensively,” Bradford head coach Dave Fuhrman said. “We shot it well (33 of 64 for 52 percent) while hitting
8 three-pointers, and we moved the ball and shared the ball very well. They started in a box-and-1 defense on
Ryan LaBrozzi but two three-pointers a piece by Pug Fuhrman and Tommy Taylor in the first quarter got them out of
the junk defense and made them play us man.” Thirteen Owls scored as Ryan LaBrozzi and Tommy Taylor led a balanced
attack with 12 points each while Drew Kelly added 11 and Ben Lanich 10. John Hartzfeld led the Beavers with 19 points while Jordan LaBue added
10 points. Bradford is now 15-7 overall and 10-1 in D9 league play and will host
the Clearfield Bisons Monday night in a makeup game. It will also be Bradford's Senior Night. A win
Monday will also enable the Owls to capture the D9 League championship. BRADFORD 90, DUBOIS 58 Bradford 27 23 25 15
