ST. MARYS – The Elk County Catholic girls’ basketball team has played team ball all season long and that didn’t change in the AML Title Game Saturday night at St. Marys High School, as four Lady Crusaders reached double figures in a 54-34 win over DuBois Central Catholic.

It is the third straight AML Title Game victory for ECC, which beat Curwensville in each of the last two seasons for the AML crown.

Emily Detsch led ECC with 15 points, Kirstie Pistner and Bre Grimone each chipped in with 11 points and Kaitlyn Geci had 10.

ECC (24-1) led 29-18 at halftime and then started the second half with a 12-1 run to put the game away.

Megan Witherow paced DCC (13-12) with 12 points.

ECC will take a 33-game AML winning streak into next season.

Both teams are headed to the District 9 Class A playoffs. ECC, the top seed, will host either Johnsonburg or Brockway Wednesday while DCC visits Keystone Tuesday.
