The three Holjencin brothers all played and scored in Tuesday's night Red Raider win over Oswayo Valley. Freshman Joey (No. 14) had five points, senior Charlie (No. 24) had eight points and junior Jarek (No. 32) had seven tallies.

EMPORIUM – A rarity in District 9 basketball happened Tuesday night at Cameron County High School when all three Holjencin boys played and scored in the Red Raiders 72-47 win over Oswayo Valley.

Senior Charlie Holjencin had eight points, while junior Jarek Holjencin had seven and freshman Joey Holjencin had five. Charlie and Jarek have been regulars in Cameron County’s line-up all season, while Joey appeared in the varsity box score for the first time this year.

It is believed to be the first time in Cameron County history that three brothers played together in a varsity game, although no such records exist. It is not known how many times the feat has been done in District 9 history.
