CLARION – The Clarion Hospital Athletic Medicine Program (CHAMP) and D9Sports.com Wednesday announced a partnership in which CHAMP will be the sponsor of the 2007 D9Sports.com District 9 postseason football awards.

“We are elated that CHAMP stepped to the forefront to sponsor the postseason football awards,” D9Sports.com co-editor Chris Rossetti said. “They have always been a great supporter of local high-school athletics just like D9Sports.com, and having them as the postseason football awards sponsor just seems like a natural progression for both of us.”

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the 2007 postseason football awards will be known as the “2007 CHAMP D9Sports.com District 9 Postseason Football Awards” and each individual award will carry the CHAMP name. CHAMP also receives a dedicated web page on D9Sports.com.

“CHAMP is proud to be the sponsor of the 2007 District 9 football postseason awards,” Angie Snowberger, Director of Athletic Training at Clarion Rehabilitative Services, Inc, which CHAMP is a part of, said. “It seemed like a perfect match for us. We have always been dedicated to the student athletes in District 9, and this is another way for us to help give them the recognition they deserve.”

The CHAMP D9Sports.com District 9 Postseason Football Awards will be announced in December. Nine awards are presented including: Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Offensive Lineman of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Performance of the Year, Game of the Year and Special Contributor with the Special Contributor award not necessarily given out each season.
