DUKE CENTER – Otto-Eldred used a game-ending 10-0 run to beat Cameron County for the third time this season 39-30 in the opening round of the District 9 Class A playoffs Tuesday night at Otto-Eldred.

Ninth-seeded Cameron County (11-11) lost despite holding eight-seeded Otto’s leading scorer Justine Wilkins, who entered the contest averaging 15.5 ppg, scoreless. That’s because Breanna Price scored 14 points, including 12 in the first half, and three other players scored between seven and nine.

Taylor Thomas had nine points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots, while Jocelyn Cochran and Jordan Beckwith each added seven points for the Lady Terrors (13-10).  

Cameron County, which trailed 10-7 at the end of the first quarter, led 21-17 at halftime, 28-26 at the end of three quarters and 30-29 early in the fourth quarter.

Shelby Summers led all scorers with 15 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and an assist for Cameron County.

Otto-Eldred will now take on top-seeded Elk County Catholic in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Thursday at ECC.
