MARIENVILLE – East Forest had three players score in double figures as it claimed its first win of the season while exacting a little revenge on its cross-county rival with a 49-33 victory over West Forest Friday night at East Forest. “The defense was the key to the victory,” first-year head coach Randy Andring said. “After the first quarter we allowed only 13 points including only two in the third quarter.” West Forest (1-3 overall, 0-2 KSAC-North), which beat East Forest 55-40 last week in the East Forest Tip-off Tournament, led 20-17 at the end of the first quarter but was outscored 32-13 the rest of the way. Eats Forest (1-2, 1-0) took a 28-25 halftime lead and then expanded it to 35-27 at the end of the third quarter. Zach Miller led East Forest with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Shane Silvis had a big night with 14 points, five rebounds and five blocked shots. Tyler Andring, the coach’s son, added 10 points and six rebounds. Josh Adams had nearly half of West Forest’s points with 15. Score of the game:
