INDIANA – Kiski Area used a 17-0 first-quarter run to open up a 17-point lead at the end of the quarter and never looked back knocking off Punxsutawney 56-39 in the opening round of the Indiana Tip-off Tournament Friday at Indiana High School.

The Cavaliers led 21-4 at the end of the first eight minutes and 23-4 in the second quarter.

Punxsutawney fought back ending the first half on a 14-4 run, but Kiski Area scored seven straight points to start the third quarter, and its lead never fell back under double digits the rest of the game.

Jenna Reitz led Punxsuatweny with 18 points, while Allie Miller added 10.

The Lady Chucks will face Marion Center in the consolation game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
