CURWENSVILLE – Michelle Mancuso scored 12 points and LeeAnn Holt
added 10 as Brockway spoiled Curwensville's opener 46-28 in Allegheny Mountain League South Division
girls’ action on the Patton Hall hardwood at Curwensville Wednesday night.
The Lady Rovers never trailed en route to their second win in three
games building a 13-5 lead after one quarter and then pulling away after the Lady Tide narrowed the deficit
to three points (15-12) with 1:45 remaining in the first half.
Ahead, 21-12, the Lady Rovers forced three quick turnovers and widened
the gap to 29-12.
Curwensville, which shot only 25 percent (11-for-44), never got closer
than 15 points.
Brockway connected on 35 percent of its 61 shots and out rebounded the
hosts 37-27.
Tess Bloom topped the Lady Tide with 11 points.
In the prelim, Ann Moyer and Sara Guilyard scored eight points apiece
to lead Brockway to a 36-14 win. Katie Wriglesworth topped Curwensville's junior varsity with six points.
