RIDGWAY – Cameron County used a strong defensive effort to knock off Ridgway 54-41 in non-league boys’ basketball action Wednesday night at Ridgway.

The Red Raiders had 15 steals and got points off 12 of those turnovers in knocking off a pesky Ridgway squad.

Cameron led by just one, 19-18, at halftime and by five, 35-30, at the end of the third quarter before outscoring the Elkers 19-11 in the fourth quarter.

Don Catalone had a big hand in the Red Raiders second half scoring 10 of his game-high 20 points in the third quarter. He added five steals on defense.

Daniel Sullivan added 17 points, while Jarek Holjencin added 11 rebounds and Andrew Kesterholt eight boards helping the Red Raiders outrebound Ridgway 33-23.

Ben Jaques led Ridgway with 14 points, the only Elker in double figures.
