Click here for box score (in PDF) CLEARFIELD – Kayla Hoohuli tied a career-high with 38 points to lead St. Marys to a come-from-behind 62-58 win at Clearfield in D9 League girls’ action Friday night. St. Marys trailed 48-41 going to the fourth quarter but outscored Clearfield 21-10 in the final frame. The Lady Dutch (13-1 overall, 6-1 D9 League)) were also down 35-23 at halftime after the Lady Bisons (4-6, 2-3) broke open an 11-all tie at the end of the first eight minutes by outscoring St. Marys 24-12 in the second quarter. St. Marys started its comeback in the third quarter outscoring Clearfield 18-13. Hoohuli was a big reason why St. Marys was able to come back. She took half of her team’s 64 shots hitting 13 of 32 attempts including 6 of 17 3-pointers while adding 6 of 8 free throws in leading the Lady Dutch to the victory. The sophomore, who now has 934 career points, hit 30 points for the second time in four days – she had 32 Monday vs. DuBois – and tied her career high set Dec. 27. Hoohuli completed a double-double with 10 rebounds and also had six steals. Megan Herbstritt added seven points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals for St. Marys, while Amanda Simbeck had seven points and seven rebounds. Gwen Porter led Clearfield with 13 points, and Amber Byerly added 12 points.
