JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg’s Abby Grumley joined the 1,000-career-point club Tuesday when she poured in 28 in a 58-35 Ramettes win over visiting Curwensville.

Grumley came into the game needing 25 points to hit 1,000 and scored it on a layup with 5:54 left in the game. She now has 1,003 career points and joins her mom, Sue (the former Sue Kocjancic; 1,234 points) and Lora Figley (1,489 points) as the only 1,000-point girls’ scorers at Johnsonburg. She also joins her brother Calvin in the 1,000-point club. Calvin Grumley is the all-time leading boys’ scorer in District 9 history with 2,225 career points.

Johnsonburg (11-4) had little trouble with winless Curwensville (0-14) taking a 17-4 lead and never looking back.
