KANE – Bree Bergman and Natalie Kossack each recorded double-doubles to help Kane to an easy 56-32 win over visiting Ridgway in non-conference girls’ basketball action Thursday night. Bergman scored a game-high 23 points and added 16 rebounds, while Kossack had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Bergman’s 23 tallies put her within four points of 1,000 in her career. Kane (12-5) led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and 33-13 at halftime on its way to winning for just the second time in the last five outings. “All of our girls played well,” Kane coach Dave Kiehl said. “It was good to see that bounce in their step out there. We needed this game to regain our confidence.” Kalie Walter also added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Wolves, and Andrea Saquin had six steals and two points. “Andrea played tough defense on Emily Mitchell, and Kalie had a nice game also.” Mitchell was the lone Ridgway (5-10) player in double digits with 12 points. Kane returns to action Friday at DuBois Central Catholic, while Ridgway hosts Sheffield.
