City Derrick KARNS CITY – Ashley Campbell of Karns City scored a career-high 41 points and became just the third District 9 girls’ player to score 40 points in a game since the 2001 season in a 59-40 Lady Gremlins win over visiting A-C Valley. Twenty-three of Campbell’s 41 points came from the free-throw line, as she hit 23 of 26 charity shots while becoming just the second Karns City girls’ player to even reach 30 points since the 2001 season. Katie Kepple had 30 Jan 28, 2003. The 41-point effort continued a recent streak of good games for Campbell, who is averaging 29 points per game in her last four games and 25.4 ppg in her last seven. Campbell, who is averaging 19.2 ppg on the season, is also closing in on 1,000 career points with 944. Erin Larimore had 18 points to lead A-C Valley. NOTES – The only other 40-point scorers in District 9 since 2001

McNellie with 41 Feb. 15, 2007 … Campbell is the 13th District 9 girls player to score at least 30
points in a game this season, tying the most in a season since 2001. There were also 13 30-point scorers in 2003.
