JOHNSONBURG 55, BROCKWAY 45 JOHNSONBURG – Seth Streich had a near perfect night Friday night missing just one shot from the field and one from the free-throw line while scoring a game-high 29 points to lead Johnsonburg to a 55-45 win over visiting Brockway in the AML Boys’ Semifinals Friday night at Johnsonburg. Streich hit on 12 of 13 shots from the field (92.3 percent) and 5 of 6 free throws while also completing a double-double with 10 rebounds. The Rams (17-6) led by just one, 21-10, at halftime but used a 15-10 advantage in the third quarter and a 19-15 edge in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Ren Yonker added 10 points and five rebounds for the Rams, who will now take on DuBois Central Catholic in the AML Title game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Marys High School. Nick Anderson paced Brockway with 19 points. DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 40, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 39 DUBOIS – John Ferraraccio's basket with 6.6 seconds left lifted DuBois Central Catholic to a 40-39 win over visiting Elk County Catholic in the AML Boys' Semifinals Friday night. ECC (16-7) had taken a 39-38 lead on an old-school 3-point play by Nate Higgins with around 30 seconds to play before Ferraraccio had the answer for DCC (17-5). The Crusaders were never able to get a shot off following the Ferracchio hoop. The game was tight throughout and was tied at 29 going to the fourth quarter. Ferraraccio netted 17 points and Joe McNally 13 for the Cardinals (17-5), while Nate Higgins was the lone Crusader (16-7) in double figures with 12 points. DCC will now take on Johnsonburg in the AML Title game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Marys High School. |
