KNOX – Jenna McCorry, Alex Guercio and Maura McCaslin combined to score 44 points to lead Moniteau one step closer to the KSAC-South title with a 53-46 win at Keystone Monday night. The Lady Warriors (15-5 overall, 12-3 KSAC-South) can win the South title by beating Karns City Tuesday and A-C Valley Wednesday or by having Union (13-7, 11-4) lose to either A-C Valley or Redbank Valley while Moniteau is splitting its final two games or have Union lose both its remaining games even if Moniteau doesn’t win one. McCorry netted a team-high 17 points for Moniteau, which has won seven straight, while Guercio added 15 and McCaslin 12. That helped offset a game-high 23 points from Keystone’s Sam Schwabenbauer, who connected on 10 baskets and was 3 of 4 from the free-throw line Moniteau used a 15-10 second quarter to take a 31-24 halftime lead and then played Keystone (9-11, 7-8) to a second-half tie to win its second game over the Lady Panthers in four nights.
