Clarion Basketball Announces “Take a Kid to the Game” Promotion

All kids 14 and under to receive free admission Sat., Jan. 31 vs. Edinboro

            CLARION – The Clarion University athletic department will be hosting its third annual “Take a Kid to the Game Day” promotion when the Golden Eagles men’s and women’s basketball teams host Edinboro Saturday, Jan. 31.

            Games time are 6 p.m. for the women’s game and 8 p.m. for the men’s game and all area kids 14 and under will receive free admission to the see the Golden Eagles doubleheader vs. the Fighting Scots. Gates open at 5 p.m.

            “We are excited to be part of this promotion,” Clarion athletic director Dave Katis said. “This gives the entire community a chance to see NCAA student-athletes excel in a game-day environment in their own backyard.

            “This is a great opportunity for families to spend an evening together watching Clarion University basketball, and we encourage parents and other adults to join their kids at the game.”

            The “Take a Kid to the Game” program is an NCAA promotions series that is in its 14th year. It is meant to get kids involved in and enjoy a variety of athletic events by encouraging adults to take their children to collegiate athletic events.
