CAMERON COUNTY'S SULLIVAN; AUSTIN'S CROSBY NAMED EPM NTL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

EMPORIUM – Cameron County’s Dan Sullivan and Austin’s Whitney Crosby are the ninth week of the 2009 season that ended with games Feb. 6.

Sullivan, who has earns the award for the second straight week and third time this season, is the boys’ Player of the Week after having a week to remember scoring 69 points in three games including his 1,000th career point. He had a career-high 29 points vs. Austin then followed it up with 26 points vs. Northern Potter before tacking on 14 more points in the rematch with Austin.

Crosby, who earns the award for the third time this season as well, is the girls’ Player of the Week after scoring 41 points in two games including a 25-point effort with five 3-pointers vs. Otto-Eldred and a 16-point, 10-rebound game vs. Cameron County.

Six players also earn Honorable Mention honors during the week.

The boys’ honorable mention choices are Otto-Eldred’s Wayne Taylor (47 points including 30 vs. Northern Potter), Oswayo Valley’s Orion Bernard (27 points including 15 vs. Coudersport) and Smethport’s Kyle Doutt (29 points including 15 vs. Oswayo Valley).

Earning honorable mention nods for the girls are Cameron County’s Bre Dunsmore (24 points including 13 vs. Otto-Eldred), Coudersport’s Mo McCusker (28 points including 14 each vs. Oswayo Valley and Port Allegany and Otto-Eldred’s Justine Wilkins (48 points in 3 games including 21 vs. Austin and 16 vs. Cameron County).

THE EPM North Tier Player of the Week is picked by a committee of North Tier League observers and is the only weekly Player of the Week award given out in District 9.
