DUBOIS – After a slow start, DuBois Central Catholic outscored Clarion 24-8
in the second quarter on its way to a 68-49 win over the Bobcats in the
opening round of the District 9 Class A boys’ basketball playoffs Wednesday
night at DCC.
Clarion, the 13th seed, led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter,
but fourth-seeded DCC (18-5) used the big second quarter to built a 31-17
halftime lead that was extended to 43-23 at the end of three quarters.
Chris Marshall led DCC with 21 points with Taylor Pentz adding eight.
Cody Renninger paced Clarion (10-13) with 15 points while Mike Beveridge
added 13.
NOTES – DCC was 23 of 37 from the line while Clarion was 12 of 15. Marshall
was 9 of 14 from the line by himself.
