BRADFORD – After a less than stellar first half, Elk County Catholic outscored Coudersport 24-4 in the third quarter on its way to a 59-42 win in the District 9 Class A semifinals Wednesday night at Bradford High School.

The Crusaders, who are making their 10th trip to the Class A title game in 12 years, led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter before watching Coudersport storm back in the second to take a 28-25 halftime lead.

But that lead didn’t last long, as ECC flew past the Falcons in the third quarter.

Robby Wortman led ECC with 14 points, Kyle Detsch added 11 and Joe Jacob 10.

David Dupont paced Coudy with nine points, Kevin Wolfinger, Taylor Hathaway and Andrew Mickle each added seven.

ECC will now face DuBois Central Catholic at 7 p.m. Saturday at Clarion University Tippin Gym in the championship game, while Coudersport will take on Keystone in the consolation game at a time, date and place to be determined.
