JEANETTE – Jeanette used a 20-7 second-quarter advantage to beat Kane 59-45 in the PIAA Class AA boys’ basketball play-in game Tuesday night at Jeannette.
Kane led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter but found itself down 28-17 at halftime and 41-28 at the end of three quarters.
Demetrious Cox led the Jayhawks with 19 points and 10 steals with Darvis Brown adding 14.
Dave Bucheit had a double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds while also blocking six shots to pace Kane. Arie Paup and Bert Leonard each chipped in five points.
