set to tip-off Saturday, April 10, at Punxsutawney

Kozel Golf Scramble set for June 11 |

CLARION – The inaugural Alice R. Kozel Foundation golf
scramble will be held at Clarion Oaks Country Club on
June 11 starting at noon.

– Size matters in basketball, at least
it did Tuesday night when West Mifflin
used its size to beat Bradford 63-42
in the second round of the PIAA Class
AAA boys’ playoffs at Clarion
University’s Tippin Gym.

– Elk County Catholic figured the only
way it could beat Sewickley Academy
was to slow the game down …… to a
snail’s pace.
HOLLIDAYSBURG
– Chartiers Valley hit seven 3-pointers and
“held” St. Marys’ Kayla Hoohuli to 23 points
in getting a 70-45 win over the Lady Dutch
in the second round of the PIAA girls’
basketball playoffs Wednesday night at
Hollidaysburg High School.
HERMITAGE
– West Forest had no answer for Vincentian
Academy’s size, as the Royals blocked 13
shots and got a triple-double from 6-foot-1
junior Gabby Baldasare on their way to a
54-32 win in the second round of the PIAA
Class A girls’ basketball playoffs Wednesday
night at Kennedy Catholic High School.
