PUNXSUTAWNEY'S MESORACO NAMED PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN BY COLLEGIATE BASEBALL NEWSPAPER

TUCSON , Ariz. – Devin Mesoraco, a senior catcher for the Punxsutawney baseball team, is a first-team 2006 Louisville Slugger High School Pre-season All-American catcher.

Mesoraco is one of just two Pennsylvania players – left-handed pitcher Mark Adzick of William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia is the other – to be named to the All-American team which is produced by Collegiate Baseball, the official newspaper of the American Baseball Coaches Association. In all 13 catchers were named first-team.

In addition to Mesoraco’s honor, four additional District 9 players appear on the “Players to Watch” list including Elk County Catholic shortstop Jesse Bosnik, Johnsonburg pitcher Calvin Grumley, Clearfield shortstop Adam Jury and Tobias Streich, who caught at Ridgway.
