BROOKVILLE'S MERCATORIS WINS D9 BOYS' GOLF TITLE; EIGHT QUALIFY FOR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT |

| BROOKVILLE – Brookville’s C.G. Mercatoris cruised to the District 9 Boys’ Individual Golf
Championship with a two-day total of 140 which was 10 strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
Redbank Valley’s Chase Zamperini took second with a 150, while Ridgway’s Aaron Stenta was third at 154. Mercatoris shot a 71 during Saturday’s second round at Pinecrest Country Club. He shot a 69 in last Monday’s first round while helping the Raiders to the team championship that day. The real drama on the day came for the eighth and final Regional Qualifier spot. DuBois Central Catholic’s Zac Burley edged out Brookville’s Alex Nichamin and Bradford’s Drew Kapp in playoff after the three had tied with a two-day total of 159. Additional Regional Qualifiers included DCC’s Drew Nedzinski, Elk County Catholic’s Kevin Smith, Ridgway’s Bill Egger and Port Allegany’s Chris Sabolcik as well as the top three finishers.
