The scoreboard clock was out of time with Ashley leading 44-43. But the timer’s clock still showed three seconds and was declared official. Don Frase put back a missed free throw by Jimmy Thompson as time ran out to give Kane the title. Ashley protested, and the PIAA met seven weeks later and defeated the protest allowing Kane to officially become champion. |
