REED NAMED DISTRICT 9 FOOTBALL COACH OF THE YEAR |
| KNOX -- Keystone's Dan Reed is the 2001 D9Sports.Com
District 9 Football Coach of the Year after engineering a four-win
turnaround for the Panthers from the 2000 season to the 2001 season and
nearly winning as many games in one season as Keystone had won in the past
three years combined.
Last year, Keystone went just 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the KSAC and had not had a winning season since a 6-4 mark in 1997. The Panthers were also 3-6 in both the 1998 and 1999 seasons and had won a total of nine games over the past three seasons. 3-6 in 1998 and 3-6 in 1999 as well. But this season was a complete turnaround for the Panthers, who with the same basically the same cast of players from a year ago, went 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the KSAC with only a double overtime loss at Clarion-Limestone keeping them from a possible spot in the District 9 Class A playoffs. |
