KSAC ADDING FIVE MEMBERS FOR 2004-2005 SEASON

Please check back later for a complete story

CLARION -- At its annual spring meeting, the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) added five new schools as full members. The new KSAC member schools are Cranberry, East Forest, Rocky Grove, Venango Catholic, and West Forest. The new schools will begin competing in the conference during the 2004-05 school year.

Full member schools in KSAC are those schools whose athletic teams compete in all sports offered by their schools and the conference. The five new member schools join the nine existing full member schools of KSAC, Allegheny-Clarion Valley, Clarion, Clarion-Limestone, Karns City, Keystone, Moniteau, North Clarion, Redbank Valley, and Union.

The addition of the new members will allow KSAC to begin divisional play in 2004-05. The divisional champions will then play for the conference championship. The alignments for divisions will be decided by the member schools later this year.

Waiting one year before the new members begin conference play will allow each of the new conference members time to meet their current contractual obligations. It will also allow sufficient planning time for KSAC.
