SMETHPORT’S PHALON, CRANBERRY’S PERSING WIN KOZEL DISTRICT 9 ALL-STAR GAME 3-POINT CONTESTS

DuBOIS – Smethport’s Diana Phalon and Cranberry’s Nick Persing won the 3-point shooting contests at the 2008 Alice R. Kozel Foundation District 9 All-Star Games Saturday at Penn State-DuBois.

Phalon won the girls’ competition becoming the first North Tier League girls’ player to win the competition since Coudersport’s Kellie Tingley in 2004.

Persing, meanwhile, became the first KSAC player since Moniteau’s Craig McCaslin to take home the honor.
